To try and make an argument that this will improve the Spear Education program is so much bullshit. Corporations very existence is to make money. It's far and away their #1 priority. But if you want to believe this is good, I'm gonna have to assume your bias is too strong to let you see the light. You are (rightly so) a cheerleader for that place, based on your position. So it's more than a grain of salt with which I'll be reading your thoughts on this one. But if I were a the stage in my career where I was doing this sort of CE...I'd be looking closer at John Kois and his program, to be honest. I simply don't want to support what is happening in our profession.

Unless they offer really stupid FU money. But what does this do to the veracity of Frank's baby? Kinda makes one perceive him and his program a little different? But with enough money, does he really care?

And make no mistake, VC will then hire the best PR firm so as to convince the profession the Spear Institute will be even better than before the transfer. It is what they do.

Paul, You are either A) Stupid or B) Naïve. When you give up the financial reins, you give up some control. At first, maybe not much...but it will happen. The VC doesn't worry much about the quality of the CE, except how it relates to the $$$'s. Like I said, Mercer absolutely changed once they sold. Mark asked for an example. There it is. To think Spear Ed will somehow be sheltered from the economic forces that are present when "others' own your once private company.....would be to be living in a fantasy world.

They did walk the talk, though. They provide outstanding services, and they charge a lot for them. Whether it is Mercer financial services, at a decently high AUM fee, or Spear education at $5K+ for a hands on workshop, they have excellent quality, albeit at a high price.

That said, they priced themselves out of my market.

If you "explore" every stained crack..you will do a lot more dentistry. Some will be fillings..some will be onlays...and your production will go up. Spear Education is not an unbiased player in this . I did not say Spear. They are two different things.

It's critical to understand that.

Institutes have a vested interest in their followers making money. They return more if their production goes up. I get it. I have been to them..and done it...but looking back..I wonder more about it.

So it took a thread and multiple people telling you that your cancelation policy is screwed up before you fixed it for the OP?

and you still want to mandate they talk to a representative first before canceling?!?

how about you do the right thing and cancel the subscription first, then talk to the doctor as to why they are canceling.

Similar problem, I’ve left 1 message and talked to 2 staff persons about changing my membership, over the last couple of months. And no one has contacted me. I am appreciative of this discussion on DT, but disappointed with Spear Education. I was thinking of going to a lower level of membership, but I think I’ll just cancel my membership.

It isn't about Spear, it is about THE CUSTOMER.

The problem with this approach is that everyone teaches it. Spear Education stole this from other companies, who stole it from others, and now too many people are using this strategy.
